Endovascular Embolization (Minimally Invasive Treatment)

·

·

Endovascular embolization is a minimally invasive procedure performed by a neurointervention specialist to block abnormal blood vessels.

⚙ How It Is Done:

A thin catheter is inserted through the wrist or groin artery.

Under real-time angiographic imaging, it is navigated to the abnormal vessels.

Special embolic materials (liquid glue, Onyx, coils, or particles) are injected to block the abnormal connection.

🎯 Goals of Embolization:

Reduce or completely eliminate abnormal blood flow

Prevent brain hemorrhage

Relieve symptoms

Prepare for surgery or radiosurgery (in selected AVMs)

Benefits:

No open brain surgery

High precision

Shorter recovery time

Targeted treatment

Early diagnosis and timely intervention significantly reduce the risk of stroke or brain hemorrhage.
